Picking things back up

After a long time of no progress being made on Anteron, we've finally decided to start working on things again, hopefully this results in a more frequently updated blog and more screenshots.

New screenies of the city

Well, here we have some early, untextured screenshots of the house district :

Sorry for the lack of posts, just haven't had many visuals to show for.

This is a deviation from one of our concept artists of the main world map which is right below it. It names off all the territories and gives a better concept of the world of Anteron. Enjoy and thanks Eric ;)

Comparison

Ok, So I did a comparison on the graphics before and the graphics after. (Before and after relating to before our pause in work and after our pause in work ended).

Here's the comparison...

Now, I don't know about you guys, but that's one big change for me. The bottom one is the newer graphics obviously. :D. Great work guys, we'll get more out here for you soon, but for now...sleep.

Login system and a new screenshot

Today I implemented and debugged the login system which checks on the servers side if the login information matches that of the playerfile of the username given. It works out really well so far and I hope to implement an account creation in-game soon. It will be the only way to do it since the whole login-system itself is hardcoded.

I also have a new screenshot for you, it's a house and a crate sitting on the terrain of the first area. Note that this may not be there in the release, it was just to give a show.

Health Bar

Just shortly after I got the terrain blending working, I got a healthbar working!
Click for Full Size

The green represents remaining health and the red represents missing health. That is at about 60% missing.
Hopefully we can get the first town done relatively soon.

Two posts in one day, usually doesn't happen but this time it did :D

First Post

This is my first post in the DevBlog so I guess I'll introduce who I am. My name is Zack, and I am the Project Manager/Programmer for the WIP Anteron-Online. Anteron-Online will be a fantasy, online role-playing game built around team-based PvP and non-PvP quests.

Today I learned how to blend two textures onto one mesh/terrain...

Not sure if the blending between two textures looks 'natural' enough, but it does the job for now. :D

I'll post back when more progress has been made.
